Dry Skin
Olive oil acts as a purifying and hydrating cleanser for dry skin. The thick oil attracts other oils that are trapped within your pores, drawing them out like a magnet. It doesn't strip skin of natural oils and is laden with antioxidants and vitamin E that help to plump fine lines and banish flakes. Pour a dime-sized amount of olive oil into the palm of your hand and massage it into dry skin using upward-circular motions. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry.
Oily Skin
Oily skin benefits from a deeply cleansing honey and lemon face wash. Honey pulls bacteria from the skin to prevent breakouts, while lemon soothes redness and irritation. Mix 1/2 cup of honey and 1/4 cup of lemon juice together, and smooth them onto dry skin like a mask, avoiding your eyes. Allow the mixture to sink in for 3 to 5 minutes. Soak a wash cloth in warm water and wipe the cleanser away to gently exfoliate in the process.
Combination Skin
Take a cue from your breakfast and use yogurt to cleanse combination skin. All-natural plain yogurt gently exfoliates, lifting away dead skin that may lead to breakouts, while also lightly moisturizing. The alpha-hydroxy acid content also aids in lightening hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. Wet your face with warm water and massage a quarter-sized amount of yogurt into your skin using upward-circular motions. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin requires a gentle cleanser that is free of chemicals and fragrances, making oatmeal the perfect fit. Oatmeal cleanses, but does not leave behind any residue or strip the skin of natural oils. Mix 1 cup of oatmeal with warm water until a paste is formed, and add a tablespoon of honey -- a natural humectant -- to thicken the mixture. Massage the cleanser into wet skin using circular motions and rinse with warm water.
